Happy Pioneer Day from all of us at GTU
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Good Things Utah) – Happy Pioneer Day from all of us at Good Things Utah. We sent Nicea and Deena to downtown Salt Lake City where parade goers have been gathered since Monday to pick the perfect viewing spot for the Days of 47 parade. It’s the biggest parade in our state, and it’s where Utahns gather to celebrate our pioneer heritage. The parade starts at 9 am on State Street and South Temple, continues past Washington Square, and ends in Liberty Park. Colorful floats, bands, horses, clowns and other entries thrill thousands of spectators each year. Many families camp out on the streets the night before to ensure a great seat to catch it all the following morning and Nicea and Deena are live joining in on all the fun.
Little Warriors camp at Wapiti
Over 65 Little Warriors spent the weekend at Camp Wapiti in Settlement Canyon. Little Warriors are Utah kids who lost a parent either to military action or post-traumatic stress-related suicide, according to Robert Pagnani, a member of the Utah Elks that sponsors the camp and one of the camp’s founders.
