Charity in need of backpack donations for Ogden kids
OGDEN, Utah — Ogden kids in need will get a backpack and school supplies thanks to a local charity giveaway event. This year, donations are down, and the need is up. The giveaway event is part of Catholic Community Services’ Backpack Bonanza. Donated backpacks and other school supplies like notebooks and markers are given to kids in need.
Baseball’s Alumni Golf Outing Set for September 27
BOUNTIFUL, Utah – Registration is open for the 2024 Utah Baseball Alumni Golf Outing, set for Friday, September 27 at Bountiful Ridge Golf Course. Everyone is invited for the tournament, always a staple during the Fall and a great way to reconnect with fellow Utes alumni, families and friends of the baseball program. The shotgun-scramble format begins at 8 a.m., with cart, tournament gift, driving range access all included with registration. Lunch will also be provided.

Utah boy, 12, 'starved to death after being locked up at home' as messages reveal horror final days
A 12-year-old boy from Utah was found "starved to death" at his father's home after suffering years of suspected abuse, police say. Gavin Peterson was found dead on July 9 after deputies from the Webster County Sheriff's Office were called to his father's home in West Haven as the boy was "not breathing" and had been "vomiting" for days on end.
