A Manatee County family hopes a recent acquisition will make their business number one for removing number two in St. Petersburg. Parrish-based DoodyCalls on the Suncoast recently acquired Clearwater-based pet waste removal company ByByPoo as part of ongoing efforts to expand its customer base and educational offerings throughout Tampa Bay. Kara Kelsey, co-owner of DoodyCalls, said it was a “six-figure” deal.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The Music Compound, a music school and facility, sold their Cattlemen Road location and merging the Sarasota and Manatee County locations near Fruitville Road and I-75. Manatee County boasts a staff of 2,376 individuals, and they are set to earn their share of about $134.9 million in base salary payroll this year. County commissioners approved a cost of living raise as a part of the 2023-24 fiscal year budget that amounted to a 3% cost of living pay increase across the board, and pay for performance one-time bonuses. A total of 132 staff members and officials earn more than $100,000 per year, while 2,245 individuals earn less than six figures.
Holmes Beach ferry stop discussed
HOLMES BEACH – City elected officials are discussing with Manatee County tourism officials whether to add a Gulf Island Ferry stop in Holmes Beach. Currently, Manatee County’s contracted ferry service stops in downtown Bradenton, the Anna Maria City Pier and the Bradenton Beach Pier, with an additional stop in Palmetto being planned.
