Diamond Sports Group May Drop Broadcasts For Mavericks, Pistons, Grizzlies, Pelicans, Thunder
If, and when, Diamond Sports Group finishes bankruptcy proceedings, they are considering dropping the broadcasts for up to five NBA teams. The teams that are being considered at the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder. Currently, games for those five teams have been carried under various Bally Sports networks.

One college football analyst says Sooners will be lucky to win half their games in 2024
Two seasons ago, in Brent Venables maiden season as head ball coach at Oklahoma, the Sooners won as few as six games for the first time in nearly a quarter century. The 2022 Oklahoma team was not a very good team with not a lot of depth at key positions. The Sooners lost 49-0 that season to Texas. The 2024 Sooner team, however, which begins play in the big bad SEC this season, is much improved over the 2022 OU squad. Yet at least one college football analyst believes this year's team will be lucky to win as many as half of its 12 regular season games.

Oklahoma tribes continue repatriation efforts with new NAGPRA guidelines
Originally passed in 1990, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act got the new set of guidelines from the National Park Service in January of this year. The guidelines give tribes more authority in claiming and requesting items that belong to them. In the past, museums have pushed back or found loopholes to comply with the law.

Oklahoma County officials move forward with Behavioral Care Center construction
After the Oklahoma County Jail failed multiple consecutive health inspections, the State Department of Health opened an investigation into its conditions. The county was tasked with finding a new location to build the jail, but not without difficulty. The OKC City Council denied its proposed location near Del City in May because of its proximity to homes, schools and nursing facilities. The board has appealed the city council’s decision.
