    Manhattan apartment burns, $50,000 in damage reported

    MANHATTAN ( KSNT ) – Firefighters in south Manhattan doused a fire at a local apartment building Monday morning which caused thousands of dollars in damages.

    The Manhattan Fire Department (MFD) was called around 6:45 a.m. on July 1 to the 2500 block of Stagg Hill Road on a reported structure fire in progress. Firefighters arriving at the scene found a three-story apartment on fire with smoke coming from the top floor.

    Firefighters put out the flames within 15 minutes. They continue to investigate what caused the incident. Total losses are estimated at $50,000.
