Parsnip the raptor's short life has come to an end, despite rescue
Parsnip, the 2-month-old osprey rescued Aug. 3 at Par Montana refinery (formerly Exxon), has died. Parsnip was rescued by a team at Par Montana, including Dan Carter, public affairs manager, who with his wife Lynn drove him to the Montana Raptor Conservation Center in Bozeman in August. Lynn named the young raptor Parsnip to reflect Par Montana's name. The rescue team also included Laurel FWP game warden Frank Bludetto, who picked up Parsnip and coaxed him into a box to transport him to Moore Lane Veterinary Clinic for one night before the trip to Bozeman.
