Gov. Kathy Hochul’s “Impossible Dream” — winning re-election to another term — may have gotten easier.

The governor landed the endorsement of a prominent LGBT political club leader at a Manhattan event Wednesday night — with Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell belting out a stirring rendition of “The Impossible Dream” from the 1965 musical Man of La Mancha shortly after the announcement.

Gay rights activist Allen Roskoff ‘s effusive praise and support of Hochul at the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club’s annual fundraising bash was the surprise of the night, attendees of the event at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square said.

It came before Hochul has even said whether she’ll run again in 2026.

One attendee said backing within the LGBT community certainly boosts Hochul chances of becoming the Democratic nominee again in the blue-leaning state. She won re-election by just 5 points over Republican Lee Zeldin in 2022 in a hard-fought, closer than expected race.

Roskoff confirmed Thursday he’s in Hochul’s corner.

“I support her,” Roskoff told The Post. “The club has to vote. But I’m favorably disposed to backing her re-election.”

Roskoff said honoree Hochul has been solid in taking actions in support of the LGBT community, abortion rights and housing affordability.

A longtime supporter of criminal justice reform, he praised Hochul for granting clemency to more prisoners than her predecessors.

“I think she’s been a very good governor,” he said.

Acto r Robert De Niro also spoke, saying it was important to re-elect President Biden and reject former President Donald Trump’s comeback bid.

“We think we’re the saviors in New York but we’re not,” De Niro said.

“If Trump gets back in, he’s coming for you — for all of us. The only way to stop him is to re-elect Joe Biden. It’s that simple.”

The event, MC’d by Councilman Erik Bottcher, also honored 96-year-old cabaret singer and actress Marilyn Maye , and writers Michael Musto and Mickey Boardman.

Civil rights activist Al Sharpton also attended.
