According to the New York Post, a 64-year-old entrepreneur and philanthropist jumped from the 20th floor of The Kimberly Hotel. His body was found in a third-floor courtyard, and an apparent suicide note was discovered before the fatal fall. His death came as a shock to close sources, as he had undergone gallbladder surgery just days prior. Despite parting ways with Fandango, the company struggled in recent years due to the decline in movie theater attendance during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company was founded in 2000.

Cline graduated from Cornell University and earned an MBA from Harvard University. He was also the chairman of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, where he supported animal preservation work worldwide. Additionally, he served as the executive chairman of Juxtapose, a firm that specializes in funding startups focused on consumer-oriented businesses.
