    Memorial Sloan Kettering pauses some surgeries due to Microsoft outage

    MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A Manhattan hospital paused some surgeries Friday morning due to the global Microsoft outage , health officials announced.

    Surgeries that require anesthesia were paused at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The hospital cited it’s experiencing system issues as Microsoft and cybersecurity firm CloudStrike work on a fix.

    “We are in the process of calling patients with appointments that are affected. If you have not been notified, please proceed to your scheduled appointment,” the hospital wrote on its website .

    New York City services are running smoothly for the most part, officials said. Emergency operations, like 911, were up and running.
