    Trader Joe’s to open in Harlem: ‘Honored to be part of this community’

    HARLEM, N.Y. (PIX11) – In a first in the company’s history, Trader Joe’s is opening in Harlem on Thursday.

    The store is set to open its doors at 123 West 125th St. at 8 a.m.

    “We’re honored and excited to be part of this community,” a spokesperson said. “We genuinely look forward to providing our customers with the best food and beverage values and a great customer experience.”

    The store’s massive 17,800-square-foot building will feature a unique section of food items that customers have come to love. Its building interior will highlight local landmarks, like the famous Apollo Theater and the iconic 125th Street, a spokesperson said.

    With the new opening of Trader Joe’s in Harlem , the grocery chain is also looking to hire 100 new crew members from the surrounding areas. Interested applicants can find more details here .

    The Harlem Trader Joe’s will donate 100% of its unsold products to various local profits and community-based organizations, according to the company.
