    MANITOWOC – Paint "en plein air" or try your hand at trivia this week.

    No matter your skill level, Rahr-West Art Museum invites you to the rooftop of the Wisconsin Maritime Museum , 75 Maritime Drive, for plein air painting!

    Set up your easel and your own art supplies for painting or sketching as Lake Michigan, the Manitowoc River and downtown scenery give you inspiration.

    Demos, music and refreshments will be included.

    The event runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 3 and is free to the public.

    Head to Washington Park, 1115 Washington St. in downtown Manitowoc, for beloved family favorite tunes, including classics from the Muppets to newer hits from movies including “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Harry Potter” and “Star Wars.”

    The Manitowoc Marine Band’s “Let’s Hear it for the Kids” concert is at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 2.

    Sip wine at Van der Brohe Arboretum

    Enjoy fresh air as you take a stroll through the beautiful Van der Brohe Arboretum , 3800 Lincoln Ave., Two Rivers.

    From 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3, each of the nine Franciscan gardens will have a unique wine sample waiting for you.

    In addition to the charming gardens, there will also be live music by the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra musicians to complement the wine-tasting.

    Looking to escape the heat? Brick’s Downtown Bar & Grill , 939 S. Eighth St., hosts a weekly trivia night and is welcoming to new teams and singles.

    Every Thursday from 7 to 9:30 p.m., you can challenge your general and obscure knowledge over a couple drinks in the relaxing upper-level Cornerstone Lodge. There are multiple rounds and some audio and visual questions.
