Karen Read lists her Mansfield home for $849,900

The Colonial has four bedrooms and three full baths and sits on just under an acre.

Karen Read has listed her four-bed, three-bath home in Mansfield for $849,000.

“Ms. Read has not been living in Mansfield since last year and now wishes for another family to enjoy the property she spent many years enhancing,” Richard Rocci of RE/Max Platinum, who has the listing, told Boston.com Tuesday.

Earlier this month, a Norfolk County judge declared a mistrial in Read’s murder trial. Prosecutors allege Read, 44, drunkenly and intentionally backed her SUV into her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, outside a home in Canton in January 2022. Read’s lawyers maintain she was framed, arguing that O’Keefe entered the home and was fatally beaten before his body was planted on the front lawn.

Cannone declared a mistrial after jurors said they found themselves “starkly divided.” However, Read’s lawyers said they’ve since heard from four jurors — two directly and two indirectly — that the deadlock only extended to the OUI manslaughter charge.

The Garrison Colonial at 481 Gilbert St. was built in 1972. Just a short distance from the MBTA commuter rail and highway, the 2,516-square-foot home sits on just under an acre of land surrounded by grassy lawns and mature trees.

Step inside the front door, and you’ll find an elegant dining room measuring 168 square feet to your left. Continue into the sun-drenched kitchen, home to granite countertops, an island, and custom cabinetry. Black-and-white tile flooring is a fun addition to the 154-square-foot space, as is the 110-square-foot breakfast nook.

There are two living rooms on the first floor. The first is a 322-square-foot space with a redbrick fireplace and wood beams, while the second is a 156-square-foot room, ideal for kicking back and watching TV.

There are also two bedrooms on the first floor, measuring 168 and 180 square feet, respectively.

On the second floor, you’ll find three additional bedrooms, as well as two full bathrooms. The primary bedroom, which measures 225 square feet, comes with en-suite bath that measures 120 square feet.

“She’s definitely put a lot of time and money into it,” said Rocci, who noted that while the house is considered a four-bedroom due to the septic system, it technically functions as a five-bedroom home. “The house has a lot of charm. The brick fireplace, the beams, it’s just really warm.”

The home features central air. There is a 506-square-foot garage, as well as 1,012 square feet of unfinished basement space.

One thing you won’t find in the space? Ceiling fans, as anyone who has caught the trial on TV have become accustomed to seeing.
