Eight Richland County softball players earn All-Mid-Buckeye Conference honors

MANSFIELD — In all, eight Richland County softball players earned All-Mid-Buckeye Conference honors for the 2024 season.

Lucas' Maddie Boyer and Alyssa Shay joined Mansfield Christian's Noel Cline as first team honorees. Boyer hit .354 with 23 hits, three doubles, two triples, a home run, 13 RBIs and 20 runs scored while Shay hit .346 with 18 hits, 13 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Cline made headlines earlier this season when she tied an Ohio High School Athletic Association record with two grand slams in one game in a 17-5 win over Wellington.

Lucas' Myah Midkiff and Kailyn Caugherty were second team selections along with Bailee Nelson of Mansfield Christian. Lucas' Trinity Stickney and Mansfield Christian's Abby Heininger were honorable mentions.
