    Richland County Volleyball Scoreboard: Lexington, Shelby win matches

    Tuesday, Aug. 20

    Lexington 3, New Philadelphia 1

    The Lexington Lady Lex earned an impressive Ohio Cardinal Conference win over New Philadelphia on Tuesday 3-1 by scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-22 and 25-20.

    Ava Brown led the way with 31 kills and 13 digs while Tatum Stover had 10 killss and 19 digs, Bella Temple had nine kills, 45 assists and four aces and Addie Nicol had five aces.

    Lexington is now 2-0 and hosts Vermilion on Thursday.

    Shelby 3, Plymouth 0

    The Shelby Whippets cruised to a nonconference win over Plymouth on Tuesday night, 3-0, by scores of 25-7, 25-8 and 25-10.

    Madison Henkel led the Whippets with 13 kills while Lexi Mohn had nine and Alex Lay had seven. Mylee Shackle had seven aces and Eve Schwemley had five. Kendra Walp collected an outstanding 27 digs and Baylie Hoffbauer handed out 33 assists.

    No stats were submitted by Plymouth.

    Shelby improves to 2-0 on the year and hosts Marion Harding on Thursday while Plymouth falls to 0-1 and travels to Lucas on Thursday.

    Western Reserve 3, Crestview 0

    The Crestview Cougars dropped a tough Firelands Conference match to Western Reserve on Tuesday, 3-0, by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-15.

    Kloe Morrison led the Cougars with seven kills and 12 assists while Zoe Kuhn had eight kills and nine digs and Makenna Tackett had 16 digs.

    The Cougars are now 1-1 on the year and host Bucyrus on Thursday.

    West Holmes 3, Mansfield Senior 0

    The Mansfield Senior Tygers took a tough 3-0 loss to West Holmes in Ohio Cardinal Conference action on Tuesday by scores of 25-8, 25-5 and 25-12.

    Addison Langston led the Tygers with four kills and seven digs while Amelia Auchard handed out three assists.

    The Tygers are now 1-2 and travel to Wooster on Thursday.

    Black River at Mansfield Christian

    Monday, Aug. 19

    Mansfield Senior 3, Temple Christian 0

    The Mansfield Senior Tygers picked up their first win of the season on Monday beating Temple Christian 3-0 by scores of 25-12, 26-24 and 25-2.

    Addison Langston led the Tygers with nine kills while Ja’Niyah Davis had six. Amelia Auchard was a serving machine with 13 aces. Hazel Cline had 12 digs and Davis had 11 to lead the way defensively. Auchard had 15 assists for the TYs.

    Mansfield Senior is now 1-1 and heads to West Holmes on Tuesday.

    Saturday, Aug. 17

    Lexington 3, Perkins 0

    The Lexington Lady Lex began their season on the road at Perkins and came away with an impressive 3-0 victory in nonconference play by scores of 26-24, 25-17 and 25-14.

    Ava Brown led the way with 18 kills while Tatum Stover ad 14 kills, 12 digs and three aces, Bella Temple had six kills and 33 assists and Savannah Wolfe chipped in with 15 digs and three aces.

    Lady Lex is now 1-0 on the year and hosts New Philadelphia on Tuesday.

    Mansfield Christian 3, Toledo Christian 0

    The Mansfield Christian Flames earned a solid season-opening win over Toledo Christian on Saturday in nonconference action, 3-0 by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-17.

    Bailee Nelson led the way with 10 points, three aces, nine kills and eight digs while Ally Shoemaker had nine points, one ace and 29 assists, Bella Rayburn had eight points, one ace, nine kills and three digs, Katie Hillman had five points, seven kills and eight dis and Kenzie Webb rounded out the stats with 10 digs and six points.

    Mansfield Christian is 1-0 on the year and hosts Black River on Tuesday.

    Shelby 3, Willard 2

    The Shelby Whippets pulled out a big win in their season opener over rival Willard on Saturday, 3-2 by scores of 21-25, 25-19, 25-14, 21-25 and 16-14.

    Madison Henkel led the way with 14 kills while Lexi Mohn added 13, Eve Schwemley had 11 and Alex Lay had nine. Henkel also collected six blocks while Mohn had four. Kendra Walp led the way defensively with 39 digs and recorded her 1,000th career dig. Schwemley chipped in with 27 digs while Maylee Shackle had 13. Baylie Hoffbauer handed out 45 assists in the victory.

    Shelby is now 1-0 and travels to Plymouth on Monday.

    Crestview 3, Mansfield Senior 0

    The Crestview Cougars cruised to a season-opening win over Mansfield Senior 3-0 on Saturday by scores of 25-9, 25-10 and 25-10.

    Kloe Morrison had five points, four aces, eight digs, four kills and nine assists while Jillian Weaver added 18 points, five aces, 12 digs, five blocks and four kills, Zoe Kuhn had nine digs and four kills and Lena Kahl had nine points and eight digs.

    No stats were submitted for Mansfield Senior.

    The Cougars improve to 1-0 on the year and travel to Western Reserve on Tuesday. Mansfield Senior is 0-1 and travels to West Holmes on Tuesday.
