Mansfield police investigating homicide on South Main Street

Mansfield police are investigating a homicide they say occurred at 2:36 a.m. Sunday at 459 S. Main St.

After receiving a report of a shooting, officers upon arriving entered the residence where they found a 19-year-old male victim who had suffered a gunshot wound or wounds, according to a news release from police.

The deceased has been identified as Malachi Miller, who lived at the residence, according to Richland County coroner's investigator Bob Ball.

The Mansfield Fire Department arrived at the residence, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Richland County Coroner's Office responded and will conduct an autopsy.

I recognize that building at one point about a year and a half ago it was a studio for a man that can't carry a tune in a bucket. Probably was a result of the shady business dealings that went down.
