    Your complete events guide for 'The Shawshank Redemption' 30th anniversary celebration

    "The Shawshank Redemption" fans are invited to "get busy living" next week as they memorialize the greatest movie of all time .

    " The Shawshank Redemption" 30th anniversary celebration will take place Aug. 8-11 at the movie's 15 filming sites throughout North Central Ohio, known as the Shawshank Trail .

    Author Stephen King brought the story to life with his novella "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption," published in 1982's "Different Seasons."

    " Shawshank" the film was released in 1994, featuring the Ohio State Reformatory as Shawshank State Prison. The Internet Movie Database lists it as the best movie ever made .

    Of the many events taking place during next week's celebration, some will be free, others will take tickets and a few will have offerings for a further cost.

    Here's a complete list of things to see and do during the movie's 30th anniversary:

    'Shawshank' events on Thursday, Aug. 8

    • Dawn-dusk — Life-size cutouts of cast members will be available for photo opportunities along the Shawshank Trail. Visitors are encouraged to use hashtags #shawshank30 and #shawshanktrail.
    • Noon-4 p.m. — Bus tour starting at Ohio State Reformatory, 100 Reformatory Road, Mansfield. For ticket information, call 419-522-2644 or visit mrps.org .
    • 5:30 p.m. — "The Shawshank Redemption" will be shown at Prohibition at the Caverns, 51 E. Main St., Mansfield. For ticket information, call 419-513-5151 or visit prohibitiondining.com .
    • 8:45 p.m. — "The Shawshank Redemption" will be shown outdoors at Renaissance Theatre, 138 Park Ave. West, Mansfield. Bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the screening under the stars. Concessions available for purchase. For ticket information, call 419-522-2726 or visit rentickets.org .

    'Shawshank' events on Friday, Aug. 9

    • Dawn-dusk — Life-size cutouts of cast members will be available for photo opportunities along the Shawshank Trail.
    • Dawn-dusk — Drive by the Bissman Building, which appeared in the film as the Brewer Hotel and the Portland Daily Bugle, at 193 N. Main St., Mansfield.
    • Dawn-dusk — Visit the bench Brooks sat on while hoping to see Jake in Mansfield Central Park at Diamond and North Park streets in downtown Mansfield.
    • Dawn-dusk — View the former site of the Shawshank oak tree near Malabar Farm on Pleasant Valley Road.  The site is on private property, so do not trespass. Tree is no longer on site.
    • Dawn-dusk — Visit the location of Red's bus ride along Ohio 95 near its intersection with Hagerman Road in Butler.
    • Dawn-dusk — Visit the movie's Road to Buxton at the intersection of Snyder and Hagerman roads in Butler.
    • 8 a.m.-10 p.m. — Stop by KV Market, known in the movie as Food-Way, at 359 West Fourth St., Mansfield.
    • 9 a.m.-3 p.m. — Stop by the Crosby Advisory Group, known in the movie as Maine National Bank, at 19 W. Main St., Ashland.
    • 9 a.m.-11 a.m. — Visit the Pugh Cabin at Malabar Farm State Park, where the opening scene was filmed, at 4050 Bromfield Road, Lucas, for autographs with Scott Mann and Renee Blaine, who played Glenn Quentin and Linda Dufresne. Site remains open until 5 p.m.
    • 10 a.m.-11 a.m. — Behind The Scenes and Beyond Panel (sold out) will be available for ticket-holders at Theatre 166, 166 Park Ave. West, Mansfield. With questions, call 419-522-2726.
    • 10 a.m.-2 p.m. — Shawshank bus tour (sold out) will start at Ohio State Reformatory. With questions, call 419-522-2644.

    • 10 a.m.-5 p.m. — A "Shawshank"-themed shop hop will take place in downtown Ashland.
    • 10 a.m.-5 p.m. — Stop by Mansfield Antiques Gallery, which was in the movie as the pawn shop window, 118 N. Main St., Mansfield.
    • 10 a.m.-5 p.m. — Stop by the Wyandot County Courthouse, where Andy was convicted, 109 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky. Donations accepted.
    • 10 a.m.-5 p.m. — Stop by the Shawshank Woodshop, the film's prison woodshop, 228 S. Eighth St., Upper Sandusky. Donations are accepted.
    • 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. — Malabar Farm State Park, 4050 Bromfield Road, Lucas, will be available for tours. For ticket information, call 419-892-2784 or visit ohiodnr.gov .
    • 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. — Visit the Crosby Advisory Group, known in the movie as Maine National Bank, 19 W. Main St., Ashland, for autographs from Claire Slemmer, who played the bank teller.
