MANSFIELD, Pa. ( WETM ) — A two-year-long roadwork project is still going on in Mansfield this week.

According to PennDOT, crews are continuing to do rehabilitation work on the bridge that carries Route 6 over the Tioga River during the week of July 22. This work includes sub-structure repairs, deck repairs, and the application of an epoxy overlay.

Eastbound vehicles can still drive over the bridge, but it’s closed to westbound traffic starting at the intersection of Route 6 and Main Street. A detour using South Main Street and Route 15 will be in place for westbound traffic until the closed lane reopens.

Crews are also continuing to relocate utilities and make drainage improvements on Route 6 between North Academy Street and Railroad Street and on Main Street between East Main Street and East Elmira Street (Route 1002) this week. Additionally, they’ll be working on ADA ramps throughout the business district between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. each day, but this should have little impact on traffic.

Work on the $7.2 million Route 6 and Main Street construction project is expected to be completed next year.
