The Des Moines Register's sister paper, the Evening Tribune, reports on July 2, 1919, that the Iowa Legislature in a special session has added the state to the growing roll of those in support of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. That amendment, ratified the following year, gave women the full right to vote. Iowa women had long been prominent in the suffrage movement.
