Former employees react to Rainbow Health's sudden closure
MINNEAPOLIS — Thousands of Minnesotans are in limbo after Rainbow Health announced it was closing immediately. Rainbow Health is a nonprofit that specializes in helping members of the LGBTQ+ community. It served 2,366 Minnesotans last year, and former employees said they work with tens of thousands of people within a marginalized community.
Montana Authorities Searching for Missing Hiker From Minnesota
Red Lodge, Montana (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in Montana continue to search for a missing Minnesota man. A news release issued by the Carbon County Sheriff's Office in southern Montana says Dylan Honnell went missing on July 12th. It's believed he was fatally injured when he fell into some rapids while he was hiking and attempted to cross East Rosebud Creek.

One Teen Dead, Another Critically Hurt in Stearns County Crash
AVON TOWNSHIP (WJON News) -- A Sartell teenager is dead and a St. Cloud teen is battling life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash near St. Anna. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office got multiple 911 calls at around 2:15 p.m. Monday about a crash with injuries at the intersection of County Road 9 and Two Rivers Road. Deputies arrived to find two vehicles with extensive damage in the ditch of County Road 9.

St. Cloud State University is undergoing numerous changes which includes financial cuts but the elimination of unused residence halls appears next on the chopping block. St. Cloud State Interim President Dr. Larry Dietz joined me on WJON. He says the plan is to remove many of the unused buildings on campus and create more of a park-like setting. Dietz indicates the University doesn't need the square footage of these buildings with the student population they have today.

Valleyfair's Fourth of July fireworks show rescheduled to Aug. 31
SHAKOPEE, Minn. — Valleyfair's Fourth of July fireworks show, which was canceled due to flooding, has been rescheduled for the end of summer.The Shakopee amusement park announced Tuesday the show will now take place Aug. 31 during the final weekend of Corn Fest. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.Flooding from the Minnesota River in late June caused Valleyfair to close its on-site parking and three rides. It also reduced entrance and exit capacity at the park.Corn Fest is the park's celebration of "Minnesota's favorite crop," organizers said. It features special corn concessions, live music, a corn eating contest and more. The festival runs Saturdays and Sundays, plus Labor Day, from Aug. 17 through Sept. 2. Corn Fest and fireworks are included in the park's admission fee. Corn Fest isn't the only major event on the calendar for Valleyfair. In January, the park will host Hockey Day Minnesota
