On the first night of the three-day weekend meditation retreat this past May at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, Senior Director of Programs Carol Donahoe welcomed the 250 participants, who had come from 32 states and from France, Ireland and Canada (to name just a few places) to participate in the opening weekend of Omega’s 2024 season on the 250-acre Rhinebeck campus. The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down Wednesday in Fulton County. The EF0 touched down in Broadalbin at 4:41 p.m. in the backyard of Cerrero’s Cuts on Route 29. It traveled across the road and impacted a residence on the north side of the highway. It knocked down a few tree limbs and uprooted two limbs, according to NWS.

The month of July has been a record month for tornados in New York State and another one was confirmed to have touched down earlier this week. The National Weather Service in Buffalo confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down near Orwell, New York. This was the 20th tornado to be confirmed in New York State this month.

A voluntary recall has been expanded due to the potential health threat it poses in New York State. Wiers Farm Inc. of Willard, Ohio, is expanding its July 12, 2024, recall.
