Plenty of Sunshine on the Way for Tomorrow, with Shower Chances Possible Saturday Evening
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good evening everyone and happy Thursday. We finally had a cold font work its way through the state, allowing for an end to the heat and humidity, at least for a few days. This evening’s weather setup shows how the cold front didn’t make it very far, and therefore was still causing impacts over the eastern half of the state during the day today in terms of sparking off additional cloud cover and showers moving through. High pressure continues to sit back off over the great lakes, and is expected to keep nice weather in the forecast for the weekend, with another weaker cold front being the only bump in the road late Saturday afternoon.

Consolidated Communications requests changing 6 vets’ banner placements
Southport Selectman Gerry Gamage will contact Consolidated Communications regarding a request to move six veterans’ banner placements. Consolidated Communications didn’t specify the problem, according to town officials. During the July 17 selectmen’s meeting, Gamage volunteered to find out more about the request. Main Street to Close for Car Show
Downtown Sanford will be hopping next Friday night, July 26, with the sounds of Doo-wop, the aroma of barbecue and the flash of chrome. More than 100 vintage cars are expected to line Main Street for Cruising with Friends, a car show organized by Friends of Downtown. Main Street between Washington Street and Winter Street will be closed to car traffic from 4 to 8 pm. A food court will be set up at Main Street Marketplace.
