Minnesota Man Guilty Of Holding Girlfriend Hostage In Dorm
(St. Paul, MN) — Keanu Avery Labatte of Granite Falls is facing more than seven years in prison for holding his girlfriend captive in a Minnesota dorm room. The 20-year-old pleaded guilty last Friday to second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He admitted to assaulting and choking the victim in her St. Catherine University dorm back in September last year. Labatte is due to be sentenced in November.

Just after noon one cloudy Sunday, Burnsville resident Fay Li found herself in a study room at the Burnhaven library studying for an exam to become a registered nurse. The library, however, wouldn’t open for another hour. MINNEAPOLIS — Brace for more rain and storms on Monday in parts of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities.A tornado warning for Kanidyohi, Renville and Chippewa counties has expired. The National Weather Service said radar-indicated rotation prompted the warning. A few storms will roll over southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Monday afternoon, with a low severe threat for wind and hail.During the dry time on Monday, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds. It'll be a hot and humid day with highs in the mid-80s. High pressure and cooler temperatures will move in for the remainder of the week, with some really nice days coming our way with highs in the 70s, low humidity and sunshine.Outside of some passing showers on Tuesday, it appears that we stay dry for the next few days. We'll return to the 80s this weekend.Weekend storms brought large hail and strong winds to parts of the state, leading to downed trees, power outages and other types of storm damage.

Homeowners warned about 'storm chasers' following damaging hail
ST MICHAEL, Minnesota — Fast winds, hail, rain, thunder and lightning lit up parts of Minnesota this past weekend. As many homeowners pick up the pieces from the severe weather, residents in Big Lake reported so-called "storm chasers" were out going door to door. The Better Business Bureau refers to storm chasers as illegitimate contractors who seek to exploit victims of severe weather.
