Armed Oswego robbery suspects chased by police from Fulton to Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Three men are under arrest after allegedly attempting a robbery in Oswego that lead to a car chase that began in Fulton and ending in Syracuse. According to Oswego Police, 26-year-old Devin Johnson of Granby, 21-year-old Zaquest Robinson of Syracuse, and 23-year-old Mykial-Anthony O DeJesus of Utica had arrived at a residence on the eastside of the City of Oswego with handguns, threatening multiple residents at gun point. Police said that the victims gave them money and marijuana in addition to the trio stealing one of their cars. This incident was reported just after midnight on Friday.

31 Years Ago Sara Anne Wood Disappeared, Search Continues Today
August 18th marks a solemn anniversary in Central New York. It's the tragic day 12-year-old Sara Anne Wood disappeared from a rural road near her Frankfort home. 31 years ago, on August 18, 1993, Sara vanished while riding her bike home from bible school at Norwich Corners Church on Roberts Road. Her abductor, Lewis S. Lent Jr. eventually confessed to kidnapping and murdering Sara while in custody for another child crime. He's currently serving a life sentence without parole.

Workers’ pay in Onondaga County this year did something for the first time
Syracuse, N.Y. — Average weekly pay for workers in Onondaga County during the first quarter of 2024 reached an all-time high in federal records dating back two decades. The average wage in the county of $1,359 a week was the highest in Bureau of Labor Statistics records that stretch back to 2003.
County Highway Department announces upcoming daily road closure
The Cortland County Highway Department announced that a portion of Lower Cincinnatus Road will be closed starting next week. The update noted that beginning Wednesday (Aug. 28), Lower Cincinnatus Road between McFarlane Road and Staley Road will be closed on a daily basis from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the next couple of weeks.
