Rochester, N.Y. — A weak shortwave will pass across the region on Sunday, but the timing will prove to be largely restrictive for convection as it will occur earlier in the day. Another rogue shower cannot be ruled out completely for the remainder of the day, but the chance is low. Areas well east of Rochester will have a better opportunity to see a stray shower or two in the afternoon with this associated trough.

A house in Cortlandville that sold for $360,000 tops the list of the most expensive residential real estate sales in Cortland County between Aug. 10 and Aug. 23. In total, 11 residential real estate sales were recorded in the county during the past two weeks, with an average price of $175,250, or $146 per square foot.

‘SpongeBob’ star Tom Kenny to perform at funny animation festival in Central NY
“SpongeBob SquarePants” star Tom Kenny is returning to Central New York to headline a funny animation festival. Tom Kenny and The Hi Seas will perform a special concert at the second annual Duck and Red Octopus Short Funny Animation Festival, scheduled for Sept. 27-28 in Cortland and Homer. Kenny and his 13-piece rock-and-soul band will perform at the opening reception Friday, Sept. 27, at the Homer Center for the Arts, and then the Emmy-winning voice actor will speak on an industry panel Saturday and premiere a new animated project during the Sept. 28 day-long events at the Ake Gallery in Cortland.
