Kansas City Zoo announces winning name for new baby giraffe
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Zoo’s voting poll has concluded, and the new giraffe’s name has been chosen. “Willow” the Masai giraffe was born on June 30 at around 1:30 a.m. At birth, she weighed about 125 pounds and stood 5 feet 6 inches tall.

WALDRON, Mo. (KCTV) - A broken water main is causing some extra work for people living in one area of Platte County. Anyone living in Waldron, Mo., who gets water from Consolidated Public Water Supply District One is advised to boil water used for cooking or drinking for three minutes. Perryville Man Appointed by Governor Parson
Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - A Perryville man has been appointed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson to one of the various boards and commissions in the state. Jim Martin has been appointed to the Missouri Ethics Commission. Martin is a veteran of the United States Army who currently serves as a member of the Perry County Youth Tax Board. He previously served as a teacher for the Missouri Department of Education’s School for the Severely Disabled in Cape Girardeau and as chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 4282 in Perryville.
