Nathan Lesh elected to statewide FFA office
Nathan Lesh, a Greenwood High School graduate, has been elected vice president for the Pennsylvania FFA. Lesh, who did not grow up on a farm, found his passion for agriculture at a young age by planting a broccoli plant in his family’s garden. That early interest led him to join his school’s unofficial middle school FFA chapter, where he eventually became president. His involvement in FFA continued through high school, where he served as the chapter’s treasurer and then president — in addition to being class president and National Honor Society president.

Miss Butler County competes in state competition
Miss Butler County Samantha Roth competed in the Miss Pennsylvania pageant from June 13 to 15 at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York, Pa. Many activities greeted the young women from around the state who participated in the state competition, including a visit to Harrisburg, luncheon with the York Philanthropy Club, pajama party and movie night, a Barbie-themed ball, Lilac Ball, and others.

Supreme Court suspends Pa. attorney for failing to disclose DUIs, embezzlement

July 4th celebration planned at Lucinda St. Joseph Church
The annual Lucinda St. Joseph Church July 4th celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, featuring all-you-can-eat chicken and ham dinners, games, a quilt tent, live entertainment, and a grand prize drawing worth over $10,000.
