MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - August is Black Business Month, a time to acknowledge and appreciate Black-owned businesses and what they represent in the effort for diversity and equality. Black entrepreneurs play a valuable role in the nation’s economy. According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent estimates, the United States has more than 161,000 Black-owned businesses, bringing in over $183 billion annually.
