Steven Cade brings Giving Guitars Tour to Cedar Rapids
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KGAN) — Grammy nominee Steven Cade is bringing his Giving Guitars tour to Cedar Rapids on Friday, July 19. The country artist will visit St. John of the Cross Catholic Worker House at 11 a.m. to donate a guitar and perform live and then he'll take the stage at 6 p.m. for a concert at Cedar River Landing.
Iowa AG’s Office says CRPD officers were justified in fatal shooting of mentally ill man

The fatal shooting of a man by Cedar Rapids Police Department officers on April 6 was justified, according to a report issued on Monday by the Iowa Attorney General’s Office. Three CRPD officers fired their weapons at 39-year-old David Vanderhamm after Vanderhamm pointed the weapon he was carrying at one of the officers. After the shooting, it was “discovered that the weapon was a black Sig MPX CO2 air rifle with the stock removed,” the report states.

Iowa City man accused of second domestic assault incident
An Iowa City man was arrested Sunday night after an alleged assault on the mother of his two children. The incident reportedly occurred at the Broadway Street residence of 45-year-old Lfils Luvoma at around 7:45pm. According to police, he pushed his girlfriend against the wall. An Iowa City man was arrested Monday after allegedly setting up social media accounts under a University of Iowa detective’s name in order to harass and intimidate him. According to the criminal complaint, Detective Ian Mallory testified at trial in February against 28-year-old Elizabeth Jorgensen and 26-year-old Isadora Kippes, who were found guilty of disorderly conduct for their role in protests on the University of Iowa campus in April and October 2023.
North Iowa Woman Gets Up to 10 Years in Prison Stealing Over $100K from Employer
A north Iowa woman could serve up to a decade in prison for stealing more than $100,000 from her employer. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office arrested 40-year-old Malorie Hallock of Mason City last November after she was accused of embezzling the money while she worked at Studio 65 in Clear Lake, stealing $123,000 in business deposits between January and October of 2023. The criminal complaint says Hallock deposited the money into her own account.
Man Sentenced To Life in Prison For Killing Dubuque Woman
A man was sentenced to life in prison without parole Monday for killing a Dubuque woman in 2021. 25 year old Romell Enoch received the mandatory sentence during a hearing in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County after previously being found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of 20 year old Kylie Duster of Dubuque. A jury reached its guilty verdict on May 6 after four hours of deliberation following three days of testimony. Police found Duster dead in her Dubuque home on July 28, 2021, after she had not been seen for multiple days. She was found in her bedroom closet with a piece of white fabric in her mouth and injuries to her face and neck.
Camp Albrecht Acres Sustains Heavy Storm Damage
