Five sisters who live in Richmond, Virginia have been having lunch together based on a suggestion from the oldest sister. Three years ago, she suggested the sisters have lunch together once a month. She also set easy-to-follow guidelines.

    Sisters' lunch guidelines

    • A sister chooses a restaurant on a rotational basis each month, keeping in mind that one sister does not eat meat, and another doesn't favor all-you-can-eat buffets.
    • The sister who chooses the eatery pays for the entire group. However, tips are divided among the group.
    • Lunch is on a weekday when the restaurant is open. We have found that some restaurants are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We ensure no one has a doctor's appointment or other engagement on the date a sister selects.
    • We catch up on family news while we eat.
    • Usually, we take pictures outside the venture before we depart.
    • Most of the restaurants are in the Richmond area, but not all of them. In fact, the first lunch was at Captain Tom's Seafood Restaurant in Colonial Heights, which my oldest sister, who came up with the lunch idea, selected.

    Restaurants visited

I have reviewed and written articles about most of the restaurants the sisters have visited. Here are a few of them.

    The next lunch

It will be my turn to choose the place for our upcoming lunch next month. My sisters don't know it yet, but I am choosing Olive Garden because I love the never-ending Zuppa Toscana soup, Olive Garden salad, and breadsticks.
