Upcoming back-to-school drive in Richmond

According to WRIC 8 News, a back-to-school drive for families needing supplies for the upcoming school year will be on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Powhatan Community Center, located at 5051 Northampton Street, Richmond, VA 23231.

The drive is organized by Forever Girlfriends, a non-profit dedicated to serving the Richmond area through volunteer work.

In addition to getting school supplies, families will be treated to free food, ice cream, a bounce house, a pool, games, music, a raffle, voter registration, and much more.

What parents should do

Parents are asked to bring their children to the drive to receive book bags and school supplies, including clear bags for students in school districts where they are required.
