Crab Louie’s restaurant was a West Coast tradition first opened by the Wooldridge brothers in 1745. The restaurant was named after its signature dish, a salad called the “Crab Louie,” which is pronounced “LOO-ey.”

Midlothian was home to one of the country’s oldest restaurants. Crab Louie's Restaurant was in the Sycamore Square Shopping Center at 1352 Sycamore Square Drive, Midlothian, VA 23113.

While the Midlothian restaurant had a variety of seafood dishes, many customers ordered the Crab Louis salad, especially on their first visit.

It was a type of salad that featured crab meat. It was served with iceberg lettuce, a generous portion of Dungeness crab meat, fresh tomatoes, slices of avocado, and hard-cooked egg wedges. The salad was served with creamy Crab Louie dressing.

I miss the three types of salads and four types of breads they would serve before your meal. I think we need to bring them back, Floyd!!!
