Three deadly crashes on the same night in the Richmond area

WRIC 8 News reported three deadly crashes on the same night in a matter of hours in the Richmond, Virginia area.

Chesterfield

A 68-year-old woman was killed on Sunday, September 8, 2024 in Chesterfield County. A driver of a 2001 Nissan Altima hit a pedestrian who was crossing Jefferson Davis Highway around 7:45 p.m. Barbara J. Royster was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver of the car stayed at the scene.

Henrico

A 15-year-old boy was killed in Henrico on Sunday, September 8, 2024, around 8:06 p.m. while crossing Staples Mill Road near Hungary Spring Road. Nathaniel Clark, Jr., was walking home from his job at Firehouse Subs when he was hit by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The car's driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Mechanicsville

According to investigators, 23-year-old Thomas Andrew Gilbert of the Mechanicsville area was driving a 2018 Ford Fiesta east on Sandy Valley Road when he hit several trees around 10:30 p.m. He died as a result of his injuries.
