'Shucked' musical coming to the Altria Theater in Richmond, Virginia

Richmonders have seen advertisements on local television stations where country singer and actress Reba McEntire announces the performance of the Broadway musical "Shucked." However, McEntire is not part of the cast.

The musical will be at the Altria Theater, 6 N Laurel St, Richmond, VA 23220, for one week only from October 29 through November 3, 2024.

About 'Shucked'

"Shucked' is a two-act musical. It is a delightful crowd-pleaser with two hours and 15 minutes of corny jokes, folksy storytelling, and an instant classic soundtrack. If you plan to attend the performance, expect to hear and see a lot of references to corn from the beginning to the end.

The 2023 Tony Award-winning musical comedy follows the story of Maizy and Beau, a couple residing in the fictional rural town of Cob County. The residents are self-sufficient and have no interest in interacting with the outside world until their corn begins to die. Maizy and Beau delay their plans to get married until they find a solution to the problem of their withering and dying corn.

Therefore, Maizy embarks on a journey to seek assistance from an expert in Tampa, but things take an unexpected turn.
