Most people have a favorite type of bread to eat with their meals. Two restaurants in Richmond, Virginia, are well-known for their bread.

    Red Lobster

Red Lobster may be known for its seafood, but the restaurant chain has gained a huge following over the years for its savory Cheddar Bay Biscuits that debuted in 1992.

The biscuits were first served on trays to hungry customers waiting in the restaurant lobby for seating. The demand for the treats became so massive that Red Lobster started offering them as menu appetizers.

Customers loved the Cheddar Bay Biscuits so much that by 2017, Red Lobster claimed in a company release that they were baking almost 1 million biscuits daily, according to the Indianapolis Star.

It is good to know you can make your own biscuits by purchasing the pre-made mixture from grocery stores.

    Olive Garden

Olive Garden has unlimited breadsticks that are enjoyed by many restaurant-goers. The breadsticks are an iconic part of the dining experience at the restaurant. As soon as you take a seat, your server automatically brings out a basket of warm, garlicky breadsticks. Extras will be brought to the table upon request at no extra charge. The breadsticks can be enjoyed as-is or dipped into Alfredo, marinara, or meat sauce.

    About Olive Garden breadsticks

I hope this is not a spoiler alert, but Olive Garden breadsticks are not made from scratch at the restaurant. Instead, the bread is made at Turano Baking Company and shipped to Olive Garden locations. Once they reach the restaurants, they're brushed with dairy-free margarine and sprinkled with garlic salt before being served.

It doesn't matter that Olive Garden's breadsticks are not made in-house. They are so delicious that consumers eat as many as they want with their meals and still order some to take home to be reheated and eaten later.
