WWBT 12 News reported that a Chesterfield mother is outraged after her 6-year-old son came home Tuesday, September 17, 2024 with a black eye and bruises after he had been bullied.

Zakiya St. Dic says when her son Gabrien, a first grader at Clover Hill Elementary, came home from school, she saw bruises on his face and a black eye stemming from an incident on his bus.

    St. Dic said:

“My son kind of had his hands on top of the seat and the little boy was smacking his hands down. So, my son obviously hit him back, and then the boy hit him back, but the boy kicked him and punched him in the eye. And, of course, used some racial languages.”

When the mother called the school to report what happened, the assistant principal hung up on her not once but twice. Then the mother was threatened to be banned from the school.

The mother posted pictures of her son on social media. The post received thousands of views and hundreds of comments from parents who said they had dealt with similar situations.

Later that night, the principal called her and asked her to consider taking down the post or at least update it to say she was working with the school on the situation.

St. Dic said Clover Hill Elementary parents are now petitioning to have a meeting to address their concerns. St. Dic is set to meet with Clover Hill’s principal on Tuesday to review the bus footage.

oh because she put it on social media now they care!? Staff and faculty pretending not to see, hear or know what's happening around them is part of the problem. We all know how it goes "oh I know their parents or that's my nephew or neighbors" and they let it go. Been there done that with SC schools!
