Patch Virginia reported that the popular grocery retailer ALDI announced this week that it plans to hire more than 13,000 employees for the upcoming holiday, and the starting salary will be $23 per hour for some positions in Virginia and other US states.

The company said the positions will be store employees and warehouse associates in its 74 locations in Virginia.

ALDI President Atty McGrath said in a statement:

"Whether it’s our in-store team filling shelves with fresh produce, warehouse staff managing logistics, or drivers delivering our trending ALDI Finds, our employees fuel the quicker, easier and more affordable shopping experience our shoppers know and love."

    ALDI's benefits

Besides the decent starting pay, any ALDI employee working more than 30 hours per week will also have access to health insurance, paid leave, and other benefits. ALDI also offers flexible scheduling and 100 percent paid parental and caregiver leave.

I have never seen anyone working in their stores over 36 yrs old, that’s a shame how they are here in the US. They have signs up saying up to $18.50 a hour in Charlottesville, so this is BS!
