Thousands of visitors flock to the Skagit Valley’s Tulip Festival every year, but the pandemic put a hold on the annual Street Fair – a beloved tradition since 1984. This year it’s back and it’s time to save the date.

The Tulip Festival Street Fair will take place in downtown Mount Vernon for three days from Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17. Hours are 10 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Head to First Street for the festivities.

You can expect half a mile of vendors, artists, craftspeople, activities for the kids, musicians and performers, and over a dozen food trucks. Community and non-profit groups will have tables, and you’ll find over 140 tents and tables in all, showcasing the best of local goods. And, of course there will be tulips.

It’s easy to combine the Street Fair with touring one of the tulip farms. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival takes place during the entire month of April so if you find that the Street Fair takes up most of your day trip, you can always go back.

Three farms are opening their fields and gardens this year. Tulip Town, RoozenGaarde, andGarden Rosalyn are all offering advance tickets, though tickets will be available onsite. During the weekend of the Street Fair the farms get very busy, so advance tickets can be a good idea. Tickets run from $13 to $15, and each place has a variety of offerings and activities.

The Street Fair is family friendly and free.
