Frequently lauded as the best vintage market and flea market in the country, The Great Junk Hunt is an extremely popular market that travels to cities around the country, and it’s coming back to Washington State. With a market in the winter and another in the spring, you’ll have more than one opportunity to find all sorts of treasures.

On February 3rd and 4th, the market is coming to Monroe where well over 100 vendors will take over 3 separate buildings. It’s easy to make a day of it while browsing a huge variety of antiques, vintage finds, industrial design, repurposed goods, rustic and farmhouse décor, and handmade goods from a curated selection of artisans. You can find everything from inexpensive vintage ornaments to pieces of high-end, bespoke furniture, and all sorts of things in between. You never know what you’ll find.

The market also offers cocktails and music to help make the day special, and the crowds more tolerable.

If the thought of competing against thousands of shoppers is daunting, there are early bird shopping hours that can help you beat the rush. Friday, February 3rd, is a day for early bird shopping. A $20 entrance fee gets you in for first pick, starting at 4 pm. Regular early bird entrance starts at 6 pm, and shopping goes on until 9 pm. Early bird shopping on Saturday, February 4th, starts at 8 am, giving you two hours of smaller crowds until general admission opens at 10 am. The market closes at 4 pm on Saturday.

The Monroe market takes place at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. General admission tickets are $10 and parking is free. Click on this link for tickets.

If you miss the February market in Monroe, or just want to attend another one, the next Great Junk Hunt will be in Puyallup at the Washington State Fairgrounds on April 28th and 29th. This one tends to feature even more vendors – around 160 – and is highly popular.
