    2 Airshows This Weekend

    2023-08-17

Look up in the skies this weekend in Arlington and Bremerton and you’ll find enough historic planes, air shows, and thrills to keep you occupied for hours. There will be plenty of things to do and see on the ground as well, at both shows.

The show in Arlington takes place over three days and you can camp onsite so you don’t miss a thing. The show in Bremerton is the first in over 30 years to take place at the Bremerton National Airport. Both promise to be a lot of fun for the whole family.

    Arlington SkyFest – August 18-20

The festivities start Friday when the gates open for those who plan to camp. There will be outdoor movies playing and a snack bar opens. The big show takes place on Saturday. All attendees must arrive in a vehicle and one of the main attractions is that this is a tailgating show. Food trucks will be on hand, but you’re also invited to bring your own food and drinks. A play area for kids will be available, Camp Adams will showcase military vehicles, there’s a beer garden for adults, a car show, and a drone show at night. The airshow begins at 6 pm. You can even purchase a ride in a B-17 or B-25.

There’s much more going on, so be sure to check out the show’s FAQ page for all the details.

Wings Over Washington Air Show – August 19-20

Taking place at the Bremerton National Airport, this show is full of historical aircraft, with breathtaking air shows, the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team Skyhawks, the Smoke-n-Thunder Jet Car, ground displays, and the Air Force Performance Lab, among other things. There will be food trucks, and outside food is not allowed.

There are a lot of things you need to know about parking, shuttles and attendance, so visit the FAQ page before heading out.

how much for a ride in one of those to B-17 or B-26? Too much undoubtedly, and who wants to take the chance flying in one of those antiques? That submersible that imploded comes to mind immediately. If I even had the money, I still wouldn't want to take the chance.
