The weather forecast for the upcoming weekend is looking really good, with temperatures in the 70s and plenty of sun peeking through the clouds. It’s perfect for what we like to do best; get outside. There are plenty of festivals and street fairs going on around the region to help you take advantage of the good weather.

Friday June 7 to Sunday June 9

    Sorticulture, Everett’s Garden Arts Festival

Free gardening classes, garden shed displays, live music, activities for kids, and more in downtown Everett. And of course Ciscoe Morris will be there.

    Maple Valley Days

A good old fashioned festival is taking place in Maple Valley. It includes a parade, carnival, arts festival, and of course a pancake breakfast. Great family fun.

    Saturday June 8

    Beacon Arts Street Fair

Held monthly on Beacon Hill in Seattle, right next to the light rail station, this multicultural street fair offers up food vendors, live music, an art market, art projects for kids, and a garden share with free plants and seeds.

    Indigenous People Festival

Hang out on the grounds of the Seattle Center, at the Mural Amphitheater and in the Armory, for this cultural festival. There’s a lot going on, with singers, hoop dancers, drum performance, powwow exhibition, and much more.

    Seattle Dragon Boat Festival

Watch dragon boat races from the shore of South Lake Union Park, and enjoy land-based dance performances, taiko drumming, food trucks and more.

    Shilshole BoatFest

Head to Shilshole Bay Marina in Seattle for free rides on sailboats and power boats. This is a great place for an introduction to boating, and includes entertainment, food, and things for kids.

Saturday June 8 to Sunday June 9

    Evergreen Mountain Bike Festival

If you’re into mountain biking or just interested in learning more, this is the festival for you. Taking place at the Raging River State Forest near Issaquah, there will be demos, skill clinics, group rides, music, food, things for kids to do, and the official opening of new trails.
