The Free Classic Workboat & Maritime Show Is This Weekend

We’re outdoorsy people and we love to get out on the water. Whether that’s on a motorboat, sailboat, ferry, or a kayak, the waters surrounding our region play a huge part in our lives even if we don’t actually love being on a boat.

Seattle is home to a large number of working boats. Ferries, tugboats, fireboats, all kinds of fishing boats. They’ve helped shape our economy and loom large in our history. This weekend you can step aboard some of them and talk to the people who run them, and it’s all free at the Classic Workboat & Maritime Show being held at South Lake Union Park.

The historic wharf there is home to several historic working vessels, some of which are sill in use, and all of which you can tour. In addition to the boats, there will be a beer garden, food trucks and live music.

The show takes place from 10 am to 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, June 15^th & 16^th. Could be a fun way to spend Father’s Day.
