The Capital Lakefair Festival Has Started and it Runs All Weekend

The Capital Lakefair festival in Olympia started today and runs through Sunday night. It’s a popular, long-running event that started in 1957 and is an important source of fundraising for non-profits and educational scholarships.

There’s a lot going on over the course of 5 days. A car show takes over the streets on Friday, the Grand Parade takes place on Saturday, and there’s a carnival that stays open late every night. Don’t miss the Grand Finale Fireworks show on Sunday night. And of course there will be lots of food and craft vendors, and live music.

The festival takes place at Heritage Park, starting at noon and ending at 11 pm each day, except for Sunday, when it ends at midnight because of the fireworks show.
