2 Big Seafair Parades This Weekend

If you love parades and you love Seafair – Seattle’s iconic summer tradition – you’re in a for a treat this weekend.

The grand Torchlight Parade doesn’t take place until the 27^th, but the West Seattle Grand Parade is happening on Saturday, July 20^th, and the Chinatown Seafair Parade takes place on Sunday, July 21^st.

One of the hallmarks of Seafair is the number of community events that are part of the summer celebration, and these parades are part of them.

The beloved West Seattle Grand Parade, which runs down California Ave SW, has been held since 1935, and is full of all the things you expect to see in a big parade. The parade starts at 11 am.

The highly popular Chinatown Seafair Parade features dragons, lion dances and the famous Seattle Chinese Girls Drill Team. The parade runs along S. King St. and S. Weller St. and starts at 7 pm.
