For the Kids: Truck & Tractor Day

The City of Lakewood is holding a mini festival perfect for families and kids on Saturday, October 12^th. Truck & Tractor Day is a chance for kids to explore big vehicles and machinery up close, as in, they’re allowed to climb all over them.

But there’s even more to do, as the day also includes some traditional fall festival activities, like decorating pumpkins and hurling pumpkins with a big slingshot. Food trucks will be on hand, and games will be played. Every family will get a free pumpkin, and free hayrides will be offered.

The event takes place at Fort Steilacoom Park from noon to 3 pm, and parking is free.

While the event is short in duration, there’s a lot of opportunity to have fun in the park before and after the festival. Fort Steilacoom Park has miles of trails, a playground, picnic shelters, and more. With possibly the last truly glorious day forecast before our typical chilly, rainy fall weather sets in – sunny and 70 degrees – it’s going to be the perfect day to spend outside.
