Maricopa Chamber to host real estate symposium, vendor expo

Arizona is home to more than 53,000 REALTORS®, with over 7,000 in metro Phoenix and upwards of 1,000 in the city of Maricopa.

It’s no wonder so many conversations now include acronyms like NAR, AAR and DRE. To most, the terms don’t make sense and don’t matter. But chances are pretty high you know at least one REALTOR®, and to them, it matters.

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in March entered into a settlement agreement that will affect the way every realtor in the U.S. does business. The 109-page settlement can be found here . The Arizona Association of REALTORS® (AAR) says major changes to commission structures and how clients and agents negotiate payment will drastically change in July.

But what does this mean?  Who is affected?  How will the real estate industry and the public be affected by these changes?

As a licensed agent, you should always seek answers first from your broker. But with so much misinformation and rumors floating around the universe, how about hearing from the Arizona real estate authorities? This is where your Maricopa Chamber of Commerce comes in.

The Chamber of Commerce on July 17 will host a Real Estate Symposium and Vendor Expo at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The first portion of the day includes a vendor expo and lunch, with the symposium and forum to begin at noon. The last day for registration is July 3.

Real estate professionals and brokers : Participate in a panel discussion with ADRE, AAR, WeSERV and ARMLS to learn about organizational updates and discuss the recent NAR settlement and its impact on your business and real estate in Arizona.
