    Hometown student a top learner at Texas university

    Jacob Booth of Maricopa was named to the Abilene Christian University’s spring 2024 Dean’s Honor Roll.

    Booth is a junior majoring in engineering and electrical engineering. He is a graduate of Valley Christian High School in Chandler, where he played center for the football squad.

    In middle school, Booth attended Leading Edge Academy in Maricopa, where he set the all-time school record in shotput in 2018.

    Booth was among more than 1,500 students named to the spring 2024 Dean’s Honor Roll.

    To qualify for the Dean’s Honor Roll, students must be registered for 12 or more credit hours and earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

    Abilene Christian University serves a diverse student population of about 6,000 with world-class teaching in a Christ-centered community, a college spokesperson said.
