Transgender mass shooter threat sent cops to Homestead

Police swarmed a home in the Homestead community Monday after someone told city officials they had “murdered their family” at the home and planned a mass shooting elsewhere in the city.

Mayor Nancy Smith, her assistant Marlene Pearce and all six city council members received an email Monday morning titled “My manifesto.”

The person behind the email, who remains unknown, used an account hosted on DNMX.org, the anonymous dark web email exchange. The manifesto, sent at 8:37 a.m., reads as follows:

Hello, my name is Raelynn and I’m from … Maricopa, Arizona. I am a transgender person. My deadname is Raymond. I have had enough of you anti transgenders being in positions of power and oppressing us. You’ve finally broken me, you cisgendered transphobic assholes. When this is all over this entire country shall remember my name. I have killed my transphobic parents and today I will be going out and shooting every cis gendered person I see with my dad’s guns. All I wanted to do was help other minors transition but that was “grooming” huh? You’ve all pushed me to this. See you in HELL.

“We responded and found the information was all false,” police spokesperson Monica Williams told InMaricopa .

Maricopa Police Department is investigating the “swatting” incident — when someone sends bogus reports of serious crimes to emergency services.

“We want to emphasize the seriousness of this issue,” Williams said, calling swatting “a dangerous hoax” that prompts “a response from law enforcement, often including SWAT teams.”

Williams continued: “This irresponsible act not only wastes valuable resources and taxpayer money but also places innocent lives at risk. Responding to a swatting call involves deploying trained officers who are prepared for potentially life-threatening situations. The consequences can be devastating, both for those directly involved and for the community as a whole. We urge the public to understand that swatting is not a harmless prank; it is a criminal act that can lead to severe legal penalties.”
