Wine bar to open next month

Wine aficionados, get your stemware ready.

Mandy’s Wine Bar is stepping closer to hosting wine tastings and flights with a grand opening penciled in for mid-August at 41600 W. Smith-Enke Rd., Ste .120.

Owner Amanda Atler said with permitting and interior construction still in progress — the bar top will be installed next week, for example — a specific date won’t be available for at least a couple more weeks.

When it does open, the wine bar will feature a full kitchen serving cheese and charcuterie boards, shareable plates and flatbreads as accompaniments to a rotating wine menu. The bar will seat up to 80 patrons, including 24 seats on a dog-friendly patio.

The wine bar also recently closed its hiring call after being open for just one week.

Atler said she has been grateful for the community’s support since announcing the bar in March .

“The excitement and feedback from our community has been overwhelmingly positive,” she said. “As we get closer to opening, I share in that excitement and am happy to bring a new modern chic atmosphere to Maricopa.”

MCC Executive Director Kelly Anderson said the chamber plans to host a ribbon cutting ceremony along with a small party to officially welcome the wine bar to the city. She said the business community is excited to see an upscale establishment open in Maricopa.

“Having a local, upscale casual environment to come together as friends and share a glass of wine that I think is integral to every evening out,” Anderson said. “There’s not really anywhere that you can do that here. What [Atler is] creating here in Maricopa is filling a gap, and we’re excited to have her energy and her establishment here in this community.”
