Two people from southeast Missouri are seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in southwest Maries County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Jakob Crandell, 23, of Piedmont, was driving on Highway W just before noon on Friday when he traveled off the side of the road, struck a culvert, then overturned into a fence.

Two Piedmont residents were seriously injured in a crash on Maries County Route W Friday morning, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash occurred as the vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Jakob Crandell, traveled off the left side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned into a fence, according to the report.

The stealing case against the former mayor of Belle was moved to Phelps County Friday, online court records show. The case was initially filed in Maries County. Daryl White Jr. was charged with stealing and official misconduct on Dec. 21, 2023.
