Cumberland Kroger to Close

CUMBERLAND — After 44 years, the Cumberland Kroger is set to close.

The grocery store, at the corner of Cobb Parkway and Paces Mill Road, will shut its doors Aug. 17, just two weeks before the store’s lease was set to expire.

According to a news release from Kroger, all 70 employees of the store will be reassigned to other store locations as outlined in the company’s collective bargaining agreement.

“We appreciate the loyalty and support of our customers and look forward to continuing to serve their needs at nearby Kroger locations,” said Victor Smith, president of Kroger’s Atlanta division.

Customers affected by the closure can find their new closest Kroger at one of the locations listed below:

♦ 4715 South Atlanta Road SE, Smyrna

♦ 3240 South Cobb Drive SE, Smyrna

♦ 1310 Powers Ferry Road SE, Marietta
